ICO of the Week – Creator.AI

ICO of the Week: Creator.AI – Decentralized Influencer Marketing Platform

After looking at 263 token announcements this week, we’re choosing Creator.AI as our ICO of the Week.

Competitive Advantage – Successful Existing Platform

Creator.AI is an Influencer Marketing Platform using blockchain to directly connect influencers with brands an agencies. Whereas today its only practical for brands and agencies looking to work with very large social media influencers, Creator.AI will use its blockchain platform to create a more efficient ecosystem to allow small and medium sized influencers to easily work with large brands and marketing agencies.

For social media influencers this is great because they’ll be able to monetize their social media presence – even on sites like facebook, instagram or twitter, which don’t have built-in monetization schemes. For brands, this is great because it allows them to easily get influence at the grass-roots level.

Creator.AI distinguishes itself with a successful existing business. Their company Captiv8 is an influencer marketing business based out of San Francisco that provides both analytics and a marketplace for influencer talent. They claim to have over 500,000 influencers on the platform, and are doing business with major global marketing agencies, and are official Facebook and Instagram marketing partners.

From that foundation and experience, they’re designing a project that builds upon their existing platform, adding blockchain elements where it makes sense. The CR8 token is used as the native currency of the platform, and will also be used to incentivize content review – making sure content produced is of high quality.

Risks

There are several ICOs trying to do the social influencer marketing platform – for good reason – it’s a huge market that’s growing rapidly, and it’s currently inefficient and not optimized, meaning it’s ripe for disruption.

Besides Creator.AI, Friendz and SocialCxN are two fairly strong ICOs also doing an influencer marketing platform. While this is a risk, we feel the influencer marketing industry is large enough to accomodate multiple players. Because social media can be very localized, it should be noted that SocialCxN is another American ICO – though it’s based on the east coast, whereas Creator.AI is based out of Silicon Valley. Friendz is based out of Europe.

Summary

We’ve had a good week for ICOs but Creator.AI is by far the most solid project. They have a great idea targeting a large and growing market. Their platform is well-designed, by people who understand their industry they’re targeting, and they have an existing business to build off. We think Creator.AI is going to do well and we’re happy to choose them as our ICO of the Week.
