KNOW MORE ABOUT VISA ISSUANCE PROGRESS THROUGH CEAC DATA :
First off, we are so thankful to Brit Simon ( @britsimon ) for his efforts made to extract these CEAC data.
Below, you will find all you need to know about visa issuance progress: total number of cases per region, number of derivatives, total number of issued/refused visas in addition to those put under administrative processing, and much more..
How to read/understand CEAC data ?
Cases number of total cases per region. in other words, total number of winners per region, example : in DV-2015, we have about 40,000 winner. Family members or derivatives, those do not count among the total number of cases in the data below. a percentage of winners has family members, and they can have additional visas in addition to the winner’s. Issued number of total visas approved so far. Refused the total number of visas refused due to some sort of issue like presenting a wrong document, having criminal records, public charge etc. AP Administrative Processing: in some cases, the embassy may doubt and suspect a document or info presented by the visa applicant, so in this case they put the applicant in AP and will notify him/her of his/her visa status later. Ready total number of visas ready ( interviews scheduled for future ). Transfer number of cases which their applicants have transferred. Max Case Number Maximal Case Number per region that a DV winner has. Holes holes are like “empty case numbers”, we can understand it through an example: for Africa, the max. Case Number given is 89799, while there are only 39266 cases according to CEAC data, which means the rest of CNs ( total 50,533 ) are nothing but holes.
where did the holes come from? disqualified entries or limited countries such as Nigeria.. ( read more about Holes – britsimonsays.com )Estimated disqualified percent per region, estimated percent (%) of disqualified entries. Estimated disqualified number per region, estimated number of disqualified entries. Estimated country limit holes estimated holes created by limited countries. = Holes – Estimated disqualified number. CEAC data update summaries:
Note: we are no longer updating with tables from the latest extractions, but the link to the Google sheet is always up to date.
